Rebecca McCleskey Clark
Hoover

Mrs. Rebecca McCleskey Clark, Memaw, age 79, of Hoover, passed into the arms of the Lord Sunday, Jan. 25 after a long, courageous battle with COPD. She was born Jan. 5, 1936.
She spent over a half a century in ballparks, gyms and auditoriums cheering for her four children and eleven grandchildren, Chuck Clark (Samantha, Bevin and Caroline) of Alabaster, Cindy Clark Greer (James, Kayci and Clark) of Montevallo, Jim Clark (Tracy, Shelby, Charley and Brody) of Calera, and Chad Clark (Elise, Danielle, Annelise, Rebecca and Calloway) of Hoover.
Being our Momma and Memaw was the real work of her life. She was simply happy when we were happy. She taught by example to put God first, love others unconditionally and more than yourself, smile through the pain, give all you’ve got and be fair, have fun, play together, and laugh a lot.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clark; parents, James Marvin and Rebecca McCleskey; and brother, Jim McCleskey.
The family is grateful to the staff of Alacare Hospice and Right at Home for their loving care and support.
The family received friends at Elmwood Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 12:30-2 p.m. with a chapel service that followed immediately. Burial took place at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Dawson Memorial Baptist Church TV Worship Ministry.
