Police respond to ‘domestic violence situation’ in Pelham

PELHAM – A domestic violence suspect is in jail after Pelham police responded to an incident on the morning of Jan. 31, according to a PPD press release.

Pelham Police responded to a “domestic violence situation” in the 4000 block of Saddle Run Circle at approximately 4:20 a.m., according to the statement.

“An adult female victim and a juvenile were able to escape from the residence with minor injuries to the adult,” the statement read. “The intoxicated suspect remained in the home and refused to cooperate with police orders.”
The Pelham Police Tactical Operations Unit and Negotiation Team responded to the scene, entered the residence and took the suspect into custody at 6:20 a.m. “without further incidence,” according to the statement.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld until a warrant is issued, is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail pending further investigation.
