MONTEVALLO–The American Village is inviting everyone to come celebrate Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 16, where there will be a celebration for George Washington 283rd birthday and the 15th anniversary of the American Village.

A full day of events has been planned for the occasion, and there is sure to be an activity for everyone in attendance.

A special convocation will be held in Liberty Hall from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Presentations to the American Village will be made by The Birmingham Museum of Art, The Honorable Maryon Allen and The Birmingham Public Library, Ashley Robinett, Alabama Power Company, the City of Montevallo Industrial Development Board and the Alabama Gold Star organization.

At noon, everyone is encouraged to head over to Washington Hall to eat birthday cake and sing happy birthday to George Washington.

Afternoon events will include a meet and greet with Washington and Thomas Jefferson, drill with Washington’s Continental Army, 18th century games, Patrick Henry will be playing the Trumpet of the Revolution, learn from Phillis Wheatley and tours will be given of the Randall Museum, Oval Office, Colonial Chapel and Liberty Bell Garden.
