Wylie Preston Murphy

After a lengthy illness, Wylie Murphy, age 64, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 15.
Wylie graduated from UAB with honors in accounting. He served his country for four years in the USAF, where he had many special friends on Charlie Flight.
Wylie will be remembered by all for his puns and quick wit, his kind heart, and his loving spirit. He never hesitated to give to others and was a loyal friend to many. He loved Alabama football, fishing and his dogs. He had a special bond with his sisters-in-law, Susan and Janet, and loved Sarge and Marge as his own family.
He loved his two sons, Matt and Daniel, with all his heart. Carol will always remain his soul mate. A special thanks to Terry Marshall, a true friend who supported Wylie through good times and bad.
Also, a special thanks to his many friends from Charlie Flight who provided love and support to Wylie and his family throughout the years.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
