Tullis Harold Blankenship, Sr., age 93, of Calera, died Monday, Feb. 23.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27 at Calera Baptist Church with burial in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Friday, February 27, at Calera Baptist Church. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana is directing.
Mr. Blankenship worked at Hays International Aircraft for 36 years, was a World War II Veteran, Mason and member of Calera Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Mr. Blankenship is preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Blanche Lucas Blankenship, a daughter, Linda Blankenship, one brother, and two sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Landa B. Dawkins (Donald); sons, Tullis H. Blankenship, Jr. (Gail) and Robert “Bobby” Blankenship (Cindy); grandchildren, Stephen Dawkins (Jamie), Jason Blankenship, Jaime Adams (Lane), Kerry Blankenship (Leslie), and Lucas Blankenship (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Tori, Tripp, Jacob, Graham, Mason, Samantha, Skyler, Sidney, and Gavin; one brother, Floyd Blankenship; and numerous other family and friends.
