Beverly Jean McKenna, age 81, of Shelby, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Known by all as “Granny Bev,” she owned and operated Beverly’s Barbeque from 1972-2005. She was always loving, giving, and seldom without a smile. Granny Bev, loved by all who knew her, was the epitome of a caring, generous Christian.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28 at Columbiana United Methodist Church with burial in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Columbiana United Methodist Church. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Ms. McKenna is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Buchta and son-in-law, Melvin Turquitt.
She is survived by her children, Richard Pearson (Merrie Lynne), Charles Pearson, Jr. (Frances), Marcia Turquitt, Kim Pappanastos (Zack), James Leeper (Hayley), Danny Leeper, and Laddie Leeper; grandchildren, Bethany Ivey, Todd Pearson, Aaron Pearson, Stephen McArdle, Emily Mangina, Chase Pearson, Seth Turquitt, Cpt. Dane Turquitt, Rachel Pappanastos, Alexa Pappanastos, Donald Wickersham, Leesa O’Leary, Jamie Leeper, Hayden Leeper, Jaymesyn Leeper, Danielle Leeper, Joshua Leeper, and Jeremy Leeper; great-grandchildren, Anna Beth Ivey, Ben Ivey, Merrie Cannon Ivey, Abe Ivey, Quinn Thomas, Mac Pearson, Louis Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Gavin Pearson, Harper Pearson, Riley McArdle, Truman McArdle, Nola Mazie McArdle, Kathryn Mangina, Caleb Goodall, Jake Goodall, Briella Mangina, Noah Mangina, Tyler Turquitt, Johnny Wickersham, Emily Wickersham, Halia O’Leary, Sadie Leeper; brother, Edward Buchta; and numerous other family and friends.
