ALABASTER – The Chelsea Lady Hornets paid a visit to Thompson High School on Friday, Feb. 27 to try and steal a win away from the Lady Warriors, but were turned away by a final of 4-2.

During the contest, Troy signees Brittany Yoder and Amber Harless both found the back of the net, as did Mariah Poe and Meghan Cottingham. Yoder, Harless and Poe are all seniors while Cottingham is only a sophomore.

Chelsea was able to find the back of the net twice in the contest, but did not pose a viable threat for most of the night, only forcing Thompson keeper Molly Morris to make four saves on the night in addition to the two goals scored.

Poe, Peyton Poe and Harless each tallied an assist on the night as well as Thompson took home the 4-2 victory.

The Chelsea girls will take on Homewood on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at Homewood High School. Thompson’s next contest will come when they host Hoover at the same time and date.
