ALABASTER – Golf aficionados will have a chance to enjoy their sport while supporting Alabaster’s schools during an upcoming golf tournament at Calera’s Timberline Golf Club.

The Alabaster City School Foundation is holding its first “Swing Fore Champions” golf tournament on Thursday, March 26 at Timberline.

The entry deadline for the four-man-scramble tournament is on Monday, March 23 at noon. On the day of the event, registration will open at 11 a.m., and a shotgun start will be held at 1 p.m.

Entry costs are $150 per individual, $300 for partner and $600 per four-person team. Entry fees include lunch and dinner on the day of the event, pre-round range balls stacked in pyramids, 18 holes of play at Timberline, beverages on course, an awards ceremony and goodie bags.

Prizes will be awarded for the lowest team score, longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one. The event will include a putting contest, a chipping contest and an auction for a golf membership worth $1,500.

“The tournament offers a relaxing day of golf while raising funds for a great cause: Public education in Alabaster,” read a School Foundation press release. “An investment in our public schools is an investment in our community.”
