Ford, along with Miss Shelby County’s Outstanding Teen Tiara Pennington, will help host an etiquette party for young girls ages 6-12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Helena Sports Complex.

Ford mentioned that her platform and passion for Miss America is for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.

“I had some friends that helped me come up with the idea to have the etiquette party,” said Ford. “It will be a fun event involving the community and will teach the girls about the relay and the American Cancer Society.”

The cost of the etiquette party is $20 per person with all the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Girls attending the party will be treated with dinner, a craft and will also learn how to eat, walk and dance like a princess.

Girls are encouraged to dress up in their favorite princess attire.

Ford is also on the committee for the Relay for Life of North Shelby and wants to encourage everyone to come out and support the cause and help support the American Cancer Society.

The North Shelby Relay for Life will be Friday, April 24, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Helena Sports Complex.
