Martha Jo Embry
Columbiana

Martha Jo Embry at 89 years went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 26.
Her parents and her devoted husband of 70 years preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Regenia (David) Weakley, Ron (Cathy) Embry, Karen (Grant) Morgan, and Joyce (Jim) Bolton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mommie Jo; and her sisters, Billye T. Youngblood and Levonne Taylor.
She had a lifetime of experiences. She delighted in being a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother plus having a court-reporting career.
Martha was a woman of faith who loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. During her retirement years, she loved to write, wrote a genealogy book on her family, read, and travel with her husband in their RV across the United States visiting their families and friends. She & her husband were a fun loving couple in their square dancing club.  In addition, she loved her volunteering work with the Prison Ministry and her clown ministry of entertaining sick children in the hospital.
She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbiana First Baptist Church Sunday School Classes.
Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
