HELENA–Helena Elementary School students and administrators may be feeling down now that the spring break holiday is over, but they do have a lot to look forward to this coming weekend.

The annual Spring Fling Carnival will be held at Helena Elementary School beginning Friday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m., and continuing through Sunday, April 12.

The following times are when people can attend the Spring Fling:

Friday, April 10, from 5:30-10 p.m. Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, April 12, from 1-5 p.m.

“They’ve been doing this Spring Fling long before I got here and I’ve been here 14 years,” said HES Principal Mary Cooper.

The Spring Fling will be three fun-filled days of amusement rides, food, vendors and an all-around carnival atmosphere.

The Spring Fling is open to anyone interested in attending and tickets will cost $15 for Friday and Sunday and $20 on Saturday.

There will be plenty of games for kids such as face painting, crafts, fishing for things, a putt putt station and more.

Another fun event that parents can participate in is the silent auction. In years past, Cooper said the school has made close to $5,000 from the auction that will have a variety of things for those to bid on.

HES has used Trinity Amusements in years past and they will once again provide the entertainment and rides.

Cooper said she is appreciative of the PTO and volunteers who help organize the Spring Fling and she enjoys seeing current and former students having a good time.

“My favorite thing is seeing kids and families and former students who come back to the fling,” said Cooper. “Since we’re just K through second grade, I miss watching them grow up. The Fling just represents Helena and it’s all about families and it’s just a fun time.”
