HOOVER—Located on Valleydale Road, steps from U.S. 280, Halo is an oasis of cool colors, soft fabrics and the latest in women’s fashion. The boutique is the vision of owner Saragrace Rockett and offers comfortable, fashion-forward outfits for all budgets and body types.

The boutique’s spring selection features hand-picked styles fresh from Los Angeles, shoes, clutches, handbags and jewelry, with new arrivals each week. Sizes range from small to double extra large.

“I felt like we were missing a niche in this area,” Rockett said. “We have trendy outfits that girls can feel confident in.”

Halo has a unique, fun style that Rockett describes as “flowy” and “bohemian,” complimented by a relaxed, vintage-chic feel. The store is fitted with custom clothing racks and fixtures made from industrial pipe and restored wood.

“I just wanted a place for girls to come shop with great customer service,” Rockett said, adding she hopes the store’s atmosphere encourages customers to “come relax” and “enjoy your shopping.”

Rockett also hopes Halo offers a positive environment where all women can feel beautiful. Rockett said she and her team are happy to help women pull together an outfit and encourage women to try new looks.

“(Women) glow from the inside when they feel beautiful,” Rockett said, adding “just making a woman feel confident” is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

Opening Halo has been a dream-come-true for Rockett, who has loved working with clothing since her early teen years.

“I started working when I was 14, and the retail shops were where I performed best,” Rockett recalled. “I had my mind set that I was going to be in this industry.”

Rockett brings extensive experience to her new boutique. She worked in the retail industry with Calvin Klein, Nautica and as a buyer for Macy’s before choosing to stay home and raise her children.

In just the few days Halo has been open, business has been booming, Rockett said, however she is quick to credit her friends and family for helping make her dream a reality.

“I’m just humbled by the amount of people showing support,” Rockett said. “It’s been a team effort, not just me doing it on my own.”

Halo is located at 5299 Valleydale Road, Suite 121. The boutique is open every Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
