HOOVER—Inverness Vineyard Church is giving moms the royal treatment for Mother’s Day. On Sunday, May 10, the church is hosting Momma Fest, complete with photos, tiaras, flowers, treats and a “royal brunch.”

“We don’t get appreciated as much as we should,” Inverness Vineyard Church administrative assistant and event organizer Gina Burns said.

The first edition of Momma Fest will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the church lobby and will conclude just in time for the Sunday service at 10:30 a.m.

Every year, Inverness Vineyard Church does something special for Father’s Day. Momma Fest marks the church’s first large celebration of Mother’s Day.

“When our pastor said, ‘Hey lets do something for our moms,’ I started throwing out ideas,” Burns said. “With (the movie) Cinderella just coming out, we figured we could do something that goes along with the theme.”

Momma Fest celebrates the “queen or princess” in each mom, giving them a little special treatment to start out Mother’s Day. A photographer will be on hand for the event to capture special moments and Cinderella will be on hand to greet guests as they arrive, Burns confirmed.

The May 10 service will also follow the Mother’s Day theme, Burns explained.

“Our pastor is going to do a sermon around all moms,” Burns said, noting several mothers are also scheduled to speak during the service.

No reservations are required for the Momma Fest, and all mothers are invited to enjoy the free May 10 celebration.
