Ernest A. Bacher, age 92, of Calera, died Monday, May 4.
The funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 6 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Ray Remke officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, May 6 at the church. Bolton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bacher worked at Abex in Calera for 47 years. He was a life-long Catholic at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He served in the Merchant Marines as a Bosun for three years during World War II.
Mr. Bacher is preceded by his wife, Louise Bacher.
He is survived by his children, Michael Anthony Bacher (Ann), Sharon Kilpatrick (Jim), John Patrick Bacher (Julie Noble), and Mark Stephen Bacher (Irma); three grandchildren, Kelly Kilpatrick Marshall (Richard), Bonnie Dale Kilpatrick, and Lora Marie Gallman (Alex); and numerous other family and friends.
