AUGUSTA – University of Montevallo junior Steven Knudson was named a first team All-Peach Belt Conference selection and senior teammate Matthew Haskins was named second team All-Conference following the announcement of the teams May 8.

Knudson, a San Francisco, California native, finished his junior season with 24 home runs, the second most homers in a single season in program history.

The first baseman’s 24 home runs ranked him second in the Peach Belt Conference and fourth nationally in NCAA Division II at the conclusion of the regular season for the Falcons.

Knudson finished with a .291 batting average and drove in 59 runs, which ranked him fourth in the conference. Knudson also had a .753 slugging percentage and 137 total bases, which ranked him second in the conference in both categories.

Knudson, who was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week twice this season, led the team and ranked fourth in conference with 33 walks and had a .419 on-base percentage.

Haskins, an outfielder from Alabaster, finished with a team-best .407 batting average and team-high .516 on-base percentage.

Haskins’ .407 batting average was fourth best in the conference this season, while his .516 on-base percentage was the third best mark in the conference.

Haskins recorded 74 total hits, which ranked him sixth in the conference. He also scored 54 runs, which ranked him 11th in the conference.

Haskins finished with seven home runs, all of which came in conference play, and registered 12 doubles. Haskins’ .642 slugging percentage in conference play ranked him eighth in the conference.
