Susan Dianne Guthrie

Susan Dianne Guthrie ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 16.
Her life was a beautiful picture of the love of Jesus lived out daily no matter what the circumstance or struggle. She was always a great source of encouragement to her family, church, and many friends.
Susan was born in Birmingham on March 23, 1961 to parents Rev. Billy Guthrie and his wife Juanita.
She is survived by her mother, her two sisters, Sharon Rogers, Donna Glausier, and a close family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
After graduating from Minor High School, she attended Samford University and then went on to graduate from Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University) where she focused on missions. She served a number of short-term missionary assignments overseas and spent her entire life sharing her faith with everyone she would meet. Susan lived to bring glory to her Lord and touched the lives of so many people with her smile and giving spirit.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Johns-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham. A celebration of her life begins at 2 p.m. in the chapel followed by a brief graveside service.
