Helena History Panoramic View, Helena 1913. Helena became the envy of Shelby County before WWI. Connors-Weyman Steel Company produced 15,000 tons annually of hoops, bands and cotton ties; C.T. Davidson’s turbines, in the building on the left, generated electricity lighting the town while his mill ground corn and wheat and ginned cotton. To top it all off, this photograph was taken from the vantage point of a new iron bridge spanning Buck Creek. (Contributed/City of Helena Museum)
