Nineteen-year-old Demarcus Lamar Means of Columbiana, charged with the murder of 18-year-old Haleigh Danielle Green of Shelby, has been extradited from Los Angeles to Shelby County, according to a July 30 press release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Means was released from Los Angeles County Jail on July 29 to the custody of Shelby County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Sheriff’s Office investigators transported Means to Alabama where he was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

After booking procedures were completed, Means was transported to the St. Clair County Jail in Ashville on July 30.

Means will be held at the St. Clair County Jail, due to the impact this case has had on the local community, pending bond and court appearances in Shelby County.
