John Terry King, Sr., age 66, of Jemison, passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 7 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
He was born in Jefferson County on Nov. 21, 1948, the son of the late Carl King, Sr. and the late Edna Whalen King.
He was a former grocery store manager.
He is survived by his wife, Faye King of Jemison; son, Johnny (Delilah) King of Panama City Beach, Fla.; daughter, Kim (Brian) Smith of Jemison; daughter, Kerri (Chad) Tillery of Jemison; grandchildren, Aidan, Morgan, Colin, Karley, and Jemison; sister, Lynette (Donald) Shirley of Chelsea; and brother, Bobby (Donna) King of Chelsea.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth King; parents, Carl and Edna King; and brothers, Carl King, Jr., Rusty King, and Don King.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 with Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service. Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jemison.
