Samuel Bittenbender, age 65, of Alabaster, passed away into heaven Sunday, Aug. 2.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 6 at Charter Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Wallace officiating. Burial followed at Harless Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:30-6 p.m. for family and 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home.
Daddy loved the Lord, family and friends. He enjoyed Alabama football, Nascar and has lots of fond memories or bowling, snowmobiling, deep-sea fishing and hunting. Daddy loved serving people and enjoyed working at Strickland’s in the Pocono’s for 19 years.
He loved his daughter, Marcia Hicks, and son-in-love, Jeff Hicks. He also loved his grandson, Mark McEwen, and step-grandchildren, Rachael and Jared Hicks.
He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel H. Bittenbender, and mother, Anna (Stalmer) Bittenbender.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Hicks; son-in-love, Jeff Hicks; grandson, Mark McEwen; step-grandchildren, Rachael and Jared Hicks; and numerous other family and friends.
