Patricia Gail Carden (Patsy) Noble, originally of Calera, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 14, in Santa Fe, NM.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22 at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana. Services with her cousin, Bro. Bill Collum, officiating will begin at 11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Calera.
Patsy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by Stephen W. Noble Jr., her husband of 50 years; her children, Stephen III (Jill) of Ankeny, IA, Samuel of Santa Fe, NM; her beloved grandchildren, Owen and Mabinty of Santa Fe, NM, and Zoe and Alexandra of Ankeny, IA; and her brother, James Carden (Sabra) of Calera; as well as extended family and friends she adored.
Patsy is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Carden, and her mother, Fannie Mae Carden.
Patsy graduated with honors in dietetics from Auburn University and with a Masters in Nutrition from Iowa State University. After graduate school, she remained in Iowa for 52 years, living in Ames, Kelly, and Johnston. Professionally, she was an accomplished dietitian and educator. She and her family were also integral members of their local congregations, hosting summer missionaries repeatedly for many years, and later, hosting Drake University’s Alpha Omega international student group in their home, which never knew a stranger.
