He is survived by his mother, Jean Thompson; daughter, Kristen Nguyen (Vien); grandson, Peyton Carter Nguyen; granddaughter, Adelaide Harper Nguyen; sisters, Lisa Saulters, Twila Santos, and Rhonda Truett; and several nieces and nephews.
