HOOVER – Oct. 14 was “all about beauty” for members of the Greystone Ladies Club as they met for their monthly luncheon and program.

Representatives from the Bobbi Brown store at Saks at The Summit performed makeovers on several women in different age brackets, while Dr. Michael Beckenstein, a Birmingham-based plastic surgeon, spoke to members about “the latest and greatest in plastic surgery.”

Beckenstein talked about Botox and injectable fillers as alternatives to surgery.

“A lot of things can be done non-surgically,” Beckenstein said. “It’s easier, and you can go right back to work if it’s done correctly.”

Beckenstein also talked about “bioceuticals,” which are skin care products for the face and hair.

He mentioned low laser therapy, describing it as “very safe” and with no side effects.

“Skin care is individualized,” Beckenstein said. “You have to figure out what works for (you).”
