Herman Eston Holley, age 82, of Gordo, died Monday, Oct. 26 at Hospice of West Alabama.

His service will be held Thursday, Oct. 29 at Gordo First Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Derrell Holley and Jerrell Holley.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie June Bailey Holley; his daughter, Candice Holley Braswell; son, Mark Eston Holley; sister, Jewel Dean Holley Sentell; and grandchildren, Georgia Amanda Braswell and Alison Renee Braswell.

Herman was born Nov. 18, 1932 in Kennedy, Ala., to the late William Eston Holley and Evie Lee Sullivan Holley. He was a retired International Representative for I.B.E.W. with 27 years of service, a member of Gordo First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge 564.

Pallbearers were Samuel Bailey, Jason W. Mullenix, Nathan Mullenix, Wes Fuller, Billy Brazeal, Charles C. Robertson and James Akin. Honorary pallbearers were former employees of Westinghouse, friends of the Gordo community, members of the Gordo Mason Lodge 564 and a special thanks to his caregiver, Mildred Skelton.
