Gunman robs U.S. 280 Marathon Station

HOOVER—Hoover Police are searching for a suspect in the Nov. 13 armed robbery of the Marathon Station at 5423 U.S. 280.

According to a news release from the Hoover Police Department, the unknown male suspect entered the gas station at 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 13 and pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at the clerk. The suspect ordered the clerk to open the cash drawer and fled the scene after taking an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect then got into a late-1980s or early-1990s model, gold or brown Buick, possibly a Century or a LeSabre. The driver of the Buick is described as an “older” white male with a beard. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on U.S. 280.

Surveillance cameras inside the store captured images of the suspect.
