Roy W. Hicks, born Feb. 25, 1970, of Calera, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Dec. 23, after a long battle with multiple myeloma.

Roy is survived by his wife of 16 years, Joy Kane Hicks; his son, Ethan Hicks; his father and mother, Jerry (Eddie) and Cathy Hagood of Jemison; his brother and sister in-law, Jerry and Melissa Hagood and their children, Emily, Logan, and Carson; his father in-law and mother in-law, James and Glenda Kane of Randolph; and his brother in-law and sister in-law, Dondi and Jan Sharpton and their son, Zach.

Roy was a loving husband, a proud father, a faithful son and a good friend to many. Roy was a devoted Christian and a charter member of Christ Central Church in Calera.

The family received friends Saturday, Dec. 26 from noon-2 p.m. at Randolph Baptist Church, 6221 Hwy 36; Randolph, AL 36792 with a funeral service to follow. Rev. Tony Reynolds and Rev. Jason Seales officiated his services. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Roy Hicks Memorial Fund at Regions Bank.
