NORTH SHELBY—The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has reopened U.S. 280 after a Tuesday morning motor vehicle accident closed the highway’s westbound lanes.

SCSO Deputies reported to the scene at U.S. 280 and Bear Creek Road around 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 19. Westbound lanes were closed and remained closed while the roadway was cleared.

Westbound lanes were reopened around 9 a.m., approximately 45 minutes after SCSO deputies reported to the scene.

The SCSO urges drivers to continue exercising caution in the area.
