Dorothy  “Dot” Marie Busby, age 73, of Calera, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 26 with her family by her side.

She owned “Dot’s Pig and Whistle Restaurant” in Pelham in her early years.

Her survivors include her mother, Marie Swanner; daughters, Lisa Marie Owens (Kelley Huff), Tina Owens Cumberland (Lynn), Teresa “Sam” Owens Rudd and Tammy Hines; son, Robert “Bobby” Evan Owens; brother, Mark Swanner; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and cousin, Kay Toncrey.

A celebration of Dot’s life will be held at a future date.

She lived and loved her life for her mother and her children.
