FROM STAFF REPORTS

HOOVER – Greystone Golf and Country Club has announced plans to open a new, 5,500-square-foot restaurant in April.

The restaurant’s name, Cellar 91, was voted on by members and approved by the board, according to a press release.

Members can expect contemporary styling and décor with stone detail in several locations throughout the venue.

A mural of Founders hole No. 7 will span one of the restaurant walls.

The restaurant overlooks the Founders Patio and hole No. 18.

“The new restaurant will be the ‘heart and soul’ of the club, the place the neighborhood meets,” General Manager and COO David Porter wrote in the release. “WE are excited to open the restaurant six days a week and offer contemporary country club cuisine.”

Breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday from 7-11 a.m., and lunch will be served six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dinner also will be served six days a week, Friday and Saturday from 5-10 p.m. and other nights, except Monday, from 5-9 p.m.

“The restaurant opening in Greystone’s 25th year is also a special opportunity as we are able to build around this for the club’s bright future, while breaking the mold of how we’ve done things in the past, and making our present the best it’s ever been,” Front of House Manager Andrew Nevins wrote.

The menu includes thin crust pizzas, innovative small plates, signature burgers and fresh catch creations.

Greystone has a sincere belief in produce from the local farmer rather than the large grocery stores, the release read.

Restaurant attire is casual, with golf and tennis attire and jeans in good taste being acceptable before 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., business casual attire is suitable in the restaurant.

The bar will remain casual at all times.

Members will be able to make online reservations through Greystonecc.com.

The restaurant’s ribbon cutting and open house will be held Saturday, April 9 from 6-9 p.m., where members can enjoy complimentary menu samplings and open bar from 6-7 p.m.

The restaurant is set to open its doors for member dining in mid-April.
