Highway 11 reopened after multi-car wreck damages gas line

PELHAM – Emergency crews have reopened Shelby County 11 in Pelham after a multi-vehicle crash caused a natural gas line to rupture on March 15.

The wreck, which involved “at least two tractor trailers and several other cars,” happened at about 12:40 p.m. on Shelby County 11 between Shelby County 332 and Shelby County 334, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders reported no serious injuries in the wreck, but said the crash caused a natural gas line in the area to rupture. The SCSO, Pelham Fire Department, Pelham Police Department, Shelby County Emergency Management and Alagasco responded to the scene.

Law enforcement re-opened the road at about 2:20 p.m., but said crews were still working to repair some of the damage from the wreck.
