HELENA–A unique arts and crafts business located in Old Town Helena has just celebrated one year of business, and between switching locations and throwing many parties, Party Art had a successful year and looks to have many more.

In the beginning, Party Art was located next to Oh My Sole in Old Town Helena and after a few months, the business moved down the street to its current location to utilize more space.

“We went from 250 square feet to now over 1,000 square feet,” said Party Art owner Abbey Thompson. “Where we came from was great and we never complained and they were always so supportive. Now in the larger space we not only offer a paint room but also a party room.”

Party Art specializes in children’s birthday parties, adult painting parties, bridal showers, girl’s nights out as well as office team building events.

Thompson ensures that at each paint party, the process is step-by-step and no craftiness skills are required. The business plans to branch out more this year when it comes to crafts and painting.

“We have branched out a little bit,” said Thompson. “We’re doing some do it yourself crafts and have gotten more creative. In April, we’re doing some wood frames we’re going to paint and door hangers and we’re going to do a lot of pallet and repurposed wood type things in the future as well.”

This summer, Party Art will also offer youth summer camps on three separate occasions, as opposed to just the one camp they were able to host last year.

The dates for the three camps will be June 13-16, June 20-24 and July 25-28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a variety of crafts will be made.

As far as being in Old Town Helena, Thompson said she appreciates all the positive support she’s received in the past year.

“I just enjoy how quaint Old Town Helena has been and it’s continued to be that way,” said Thompson. “It’s nice to have residents support us and what we do and it’s cool to be a part of the Old Town events and support the schools by giving back.”
