Bohemian Bliss brings free-spirited style to Lee Branch

HOOVER—Bohemian Bliss Boutique would be just as at home in southern California as it is in The Village at Lee Branch shopping center. As its name suggests, the Hoover shop carries a range of free-spirited clothing, shoes and accessories.
Lace-trimmed rompers, flowy tops, tie-dye dresses, fringed items and the store’s most popular item, bellbottoms, fill the racks of Bohemian Bliss Boutique.
“I’m just trying to stay within that bohemian theme,” owner Angelia Darty said.
A self-proclaimed fashion lover, Darty keeps up with fashion trends in order to stock her store with the newest styles, and she constantly refreshes the shop with new merchandise.
“I always try and keep up with what the celebrities are wearing,” Darty said, noting her fashion icons for the store are actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Vanessa Hudgens.
With summer around the corner and music festival season gearing up, Bohemian Bliss Boutique is stocked with fringed, 1970s-inspired booties, stackable bracelets and feathered necklaces.
“(It’s a) very Coachella look,” Darty said.
Darty said she aims to keep the prices at her boutique affordable so customers can feel comfortable buying anything from one piece to an entire outfit.
With everything from juniors to plus sizes, there’s something fashionable for any body type, and Darty is always available to help a customer find a flattering piece.
“I love helping style people. Customer interaction is very important to me,” Darty said, adding she encourages customers to try on clothes. “They don’t think something looks good until they try it on.”
Owning her own boutique is a dream come true for Darty.
“I started out doing jewelry, and that quickly expanded into clothing because I love anything fashion,” Darty said. “I’ve always wanted to (own a boutique), I always felt like an entrepreneur at heart.”
Bohemian Bliss is located at 611 Doug Baker Blvd., Suite 111. The shop is open Mondays-Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
