FROM STAFF REPORTS

BIRMINGHAM – A team of employees from Wells Fargo Private Bank, along with Chelsea-based company Cheeriodicals, delivered cheer in the form of 100 big green boxes to patients at Children’s of Alabama during a “Cheeriodicals Day” event held April 6.

Cheeriodicals are “big green boxes of cheer” made up of age-appropriate magazines, activity books, room decorations, puzzles, stickers and games for children to enjoy.

More than 75 employees from Wells Fargo Private Bank volunteered their time to assemble the one-of-a-kind children’s gift boxes.

“Wells Fargo Private Bank is deeply rooted in our Culture of CaringSM and proud to continuously support Children’s of Alabama with their mission, as well as Cheeriodicals for ‘Cheeriodicals Day,’” said Tory Sherman, regional director for Wells Fargo Private Bank. “The work they do is very important to the communities of Alabama, providing specialized medical care for our youth and future. This year we chose to deliver big green boxes of cheer to patients at Children’s of Alabama. We are honored to take part in bringing joy to the children and their families on this day.”
Gary Parisher, president of Cheeriodicals, said the group was excited to “deliver smiles” to Children’s of Alabama.

“The team from Wells Fargo Private Bank is literally changing lives at Children’s of Alabama by spreading cheer to so many children and families,” Parisher said.

“It has been such a memorable day for the children and families at our hospital today,” said Honey Cook, director of Child Life at Children’s. “We were so grateful to have the Wells Fargo Private Bank team to visit today to deliver a dose of cheer to our hospital.”

After a special delivery to the hospital, free of charge, by Two Men and a Truck, Cheeriodicals and employees from Wells Fargo Private Bank began handing out the big green boxes of cheer to patient families at the hospital.

The gift boxes are tailored to boys and girls, and specific age groups.
Cheeriodicals Day is catching on across the country.

Cheeriodicals has worked with children’s hospitals in dozens of markets nationwide, including Houston, Nashville, Cincinnati, Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Columbus, Phoenix and New York.

Cheeriodicals has plans to continue working with corporate sponsors to bring cheer to children’s hospitals throughout the country.
