The much-anticipated event has become a local tradition.

During the event, part of Main Street is closed down, and the public is allowed to set up chairs in the street and sit back and listen to great musicians.

This year’s lineup promises to be fun for all. The performers are as follows: May 6, Randy Glenn Band (classic rock and country); May 13, The Sling Shot Band (classic rock and country); May 27, Car Show; June 3, Elvis Tribute with Terry Padgett; June 10, Gospel Follies; June 17, Diedra the Blues Dive and Ruff Pro Band (blues and soul); June 24, Liberty Day: SCAC live music at 6 p.m.; Music on Main at 7 p.m.; July 1, No performance; July 8, Karaoke; July 15, No performance; July 16, Shelby County Shindig ($10 barbecue), live music 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (barbecue and vendors); July 22, Larry Albright Band (classic country and old time rock and roll); July 29, Surprise.

The season of events would not be possible without the help of local sponsors.

Sponsors for this year’s event are Rux Carter Insurance, Brown Lumber, Shelbiana Animal Clinic, Gene and Judy Quick and Stancil and Ann Handley.

Sponsorship levels are $750 for platinum, $500 for gold, $300 for silver and $150 for bronze.

It’s not too late to sign up and be a sponsor.

Businesses, professionals and citizens are encouraged to contribute to this event, and any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Randy Glenn will kick off the season on May 6. He’s pleased to get to perform for the Columbiana crowd.

“Columbiana is your Mayberry and I’m you’re Opie,” Glenn said with a laugh.

Performing is in Glenn’s blood.

“I love performing. I’ve done it most of my life, and all of my adult life,” he said. “I’m a country singer at heart, but I enjoy rock and roll, R&B, even big band music.”

Glenn loves what he does so much it seems he wouldn’t mind performing more than one time, which would definitely please all of his devoted fans in the area.

“People ask me all the time why I don’t play more than once,” he jokes. “I tell them ‘I have enough votes, I just don’t have enough delegates.’”

So mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy a season of great performances at Music on Main.
