Anyone interested in participating in the car show may register through the day of the event. Registration on May 14 will start at 8 a.m. in front of the Alabama Power Appliance Center in Columbiana.

The registration fee for the first car is $20. The fee for each additional car is $15.

The following awards will be given: Mayor’s Choice, Best in Show, Best in Show Runner-Up, Best Custom, Best Original and Best Street Rod.

“We had 36 cars the first year, and I’m looking for a whole lot more this year,” Roberson said.

In addition, the event will include live music by The Last Chance Band, door prizes, food and arts and crafts vendors.

Event sponsors are Alabama Power and Piggly Wiggly. Roberson acknowledged her fellow employees at the E.C. Gaston Steam Plant in Wilsonville for their help in organizing the event.

Those who attend are welcome to bring their pets, Roberson said, adding, “It’s a family and pet friendly event.”
