Douglas Wayne Pate, age 68, of Montevallo, died Friday, May 6.

Family will be receiving friends from 1-2 p.m., Monday, May 9 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #1. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Bro. Billy Wyatt officiating. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Wayne Pate was known as “Pop”. He worked for CSX transportation for 36 years. He loved his children, grandchildren and watching them play various sports.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Betty Sue Pate.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristie Pate, and Heather Thrash (Brian); son, Doug Pate (Kerri); grandchildren, Savannah, John, Jake, Sawyer, Ella, and Emma Claire; sister, Sheila Posey (Eddie); brother, Jerry Pate (Wanda); fours nieces and nephews; and numerous other family and friends.
