HOOVER—The U.S. 280 corridor is gaining a new breakfast restaurant this summer. The national franchise First Watch will open in the Egg and I locations throughout Birmingham, according to the company’s website.

First Watch serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. Dishes are made to order from fresh ingredients.

The breakfast and brunch menus feature a range of omelets and egg entrees, pancakes, waffles and healthy choices, such as yogurt and oatmeal. The lunch menu offers sandwiches, salads and soups.

“Everything is made to order, and freshness is never compromised,” the First Watch website reads, adding the restaurants do not use “heat lamps or deep fryers.”

First Watch will open four restaurants in current Egg and I locations. Egg and I currently operates four restaurants in Alabama, on U.S. 280 and in Chase Circle in Hoover, one in Vestavia and one in the Montgomery area.

According to the company’s website, First Watch acquired Egg and I Restaurants in 2015. The four Alabama locations will be the franchise’s first restaurants in the state.

“After years of successful growth in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida, we’re thrilled to have an opportunity to bring our innovative menu to neighboring Alabama,” First Watch President Chris Tomasso wrote in an April 27 news release. “Both Birmingham and Montgomery an undoubtedly cities rich with southern history and culture, and we’re honored to have the chance to bring our fresh breakfast, brunch and lunch to these communities.”

The four Alabama locations will join more than 100 First Watch restaurants throughout the nation.

The Alabama First Watch locations will offer the entire menu—breakfast, brunch and lunch—daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free wireless Internet access and complimentary newspapers will be available to customers as well.
