HELENA–The National Soccer Coaches Association of America and MaxPreps have named the High School State Players of the Week for May 2-8 and Helena Lady Huskies Midfielder Juli Tatum was named the state of Alabama Player of the Week for her performances.

In a second round playoff game against Calera on May 3, Tatum led the Huskies with three goals in the game to help propel Helena to a 4-2 victory.

Tatum also recorded three steals in Helena’s third round playoff win over Marbury on May 7.

The NSCAA uses results and statistics provided by MaxPreps.com to select one boy and one girl honoree competing during the spring high school soccer season.

Coaches wanting to nominate their players must submit statistics to MaxPreps.com in order for their athletes to be considered.

Tatum will receive a MaxPreps/NSCAA branded letterman’s patch and recognition on both MaxPreps.com and NSCAA.com.

Tatum and Helena will be competing in the 4A-5A AHSAA Final Four in Huntsville on May 12.
