Evelyn Henson “Sister” Hicks

Evelyn Henson “Sister” Hicks passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 15. She was born on Sept. 10, 1915.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hicks; son, Don Hicks; brothers, Emmett and Jess Henson; great-granddaughter, Sarah Johnson; and son-in-law, Dan Johnson.

She is survived by daughter, Nancy Johnson; son, Barry (Conchita) Hicks; grandchildren, Terri Johnson, Randy (Julie) Johnson, Donna (Paul) Robertson, Zach (Jennifer) Hicks, Alan (Lane) Hicks and Brad (Lauren) Hicks; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Funeral is Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home with burial in Montevallo Cemetery. Rev. Todd Burr officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dogwood Grove Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Evelyn Hicks, 56 Church Drive, Montevallo, AL 35115.
