Jerry Earl Wood, age 71, of Wilsonville, passed away Sunday, June 19.

The graveside service will be held at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, June 23, at the Alabama National Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Wood was a Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He had previously worked at Birmingham News and retired from the City of Birmingham.

Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his son, Heath Wood.

He is survived by Patsy Wood, whom he was married to for 48 years; son, Dewayne Wood; granddaughter, Delana Wood; sister, Brenda Russell; and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.
