William Frances Higginbotham, III
William Frances Higginbotham, III, Bill, passed away Thursday, June 30 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center after a long illness. He was 81.

He was born in Elmore County and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Mr. Transmission after many years in the transmission business.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sara Higginbotham.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay, after 48 years of marriage.  She was truly his “Angel of the Morning”.  He has six sons of whom he is proud, William L., James Mark, Christopher Lee (Bethany), Hal William Higginbotham, Gene and Steven Pace. He has two precious daughters, Diana Kay (Thomas) Cotromano and Sara Francis (Gregg) Lowery; a sister, Sue Thompson; two brothers, Ray L. (Gracie) and Phillip Gregory Higginbotham; and many grand and great grandchildren.

As per Bill’s wishes, a private family “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date at their home on Lay Lake.
