FROM STAFF REPORTS

HOOVER – Hoover City Council candidate Jason DeLuca has qualified for Place 6.

Since announcing his candidacy in February 2016, DeLuca continues to attend numerous public meetings, visit with local groups and organizations and gather feedback from Hoover residents.

“Hoover is a great place to call home, hands down,” DeLuca said. “But every great city has its share of challenges. Electing leaders who engage all communities and residents across the city will give us the ability to meet those challenges.”

DeLuca’s connection with the community has resulted in a platform that reflects the values of Hoover residents: Ensuring excellent education for Hoover schools, planning for the financial future of the city and improving overall community engagement.

“Our school system is the foundation of our community,” DeLuca said. “It not only develops strong childhood learning, but it prepares our workforce, drives our economy and maintains strong property values. Supporting our schools is a priority, and we can do a better job working with our school system as a city.

“Residents want to have an active seat at the table. They want to be included in the process of moving Hoover forward.”

DeLuca, a Green Valley resident and Hoover hotelier, is the general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Inverness.

The Hoover municipal election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Place 6 is currently unoccupied following the July 2 death of Council President Pro Tem Brian Skelton.
