PELHAM – Pelham’s candidate-qualifying period for its two municipal elections ended Tuesday with each city council place and the mayoral race being hotly contested.

Pelham residents will take to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 23 to have their say in who their elected officials will be. The election will determine the municipal officers, which are elected at large, for 2016-2020.

Pelham residents will vote at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. Residents can register to vote at the Shelby County Board of Registrars office in person or by mail. Residents can also register online through the Secretary of State website at www.alabamavotes.gov. The deadline to register is Aug. 8.
