Michelle Lee Smith, 40, of Columbiana, died Sunday, July 3. She was the beloved fiancé of Kevin Bradley Gray of Alabaster.

Michelle was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., on July 25, 1975, and was the daughter of Claudia Marie Cook and James Bradley Smith. She spent her formative years in Rochester Hills, Mich. After attending Rochester Hills High School she began living a life showing her loving, caring spirit to everyone she met.

Her positive attitude and infectious laugh brightened everyone’s days. Her motto was “love, laugh, live” and she did! She loved her children and being a Mom and was grateful for her dear friends Jayde Evans Ryley, and Harry and Laura Pearson.

In her spare time Michelle loved arts and crafts, listening to 80’s music and cooking. Her caring nature wasn’t just for people. She loved animals and had a unique talent for naming them.

Michelle is survived by her father, James Bradley Smith and stepmother, Susan Young; two children, Christian Pearson and Peyton Elizabeth Smith; brother, James F. Smith; niece, Sophie E. Smith; and grandparents, James C. and Mary Lucille Smith, and stepmother, Jeanne Carlson-Smith Parker Michelle was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Bradley Smith.

A memorial service was held Monday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church.
