Join us at the Shelby County Arts Council on Friday, Aug. 5for the 3rd Annual Pottery Collective gallery exhibit.

The SCAC Pottery Collective began several years ago by a group of local hobby and professional potters at the Shelby County Arts Council who wanted to show their work as an expanded form of art.

Their work ranges from functional to decorative and features each artists’ unique sense of style. Over the years the Pottery Collective has worked to create their own little art community in which they help and encourage one another.

Some of the artists started out as students and now teach at the SCAC.

These artists have even been featured at art festivals and retail stores.

This gallery opening will feature the work of Amy Pickens, Aprille Hayes, Byron Smith, Candye Lundy, Joanne Pihakis, Karen Ingram, Pam Britnell, Peggy Wood, Sandra Annonio and Stephanie Dikis.

Join us on Friday, Aug. 5from 6-8 p.m. for the SCAC Pottery Collective gallery exhibit opening reception.

You will have the chance to meet the artists, talk about the art process and even see the ceramic studio.

All work will be for sale at this cash-and-carry event, with a portion of each sale donated to the Shelby County Arts Council.
