Sanchez Tanniehill is a gospel singer from Alabaster. He shares a story of overcoming adversity and using that experience for good. At 6 weeks old, Tanniehill had a stroke. Doctors told his mother that he would never be able to walk or talk. Today, he is an accomplished gospel artist.

Sanchez made it to the second round in the 2001 season of American Idol, was the 2014 People’s Choice Award’s Gospel Artist of the Year, and was the 2015 NAACP Gospel Artist of the Year. He has sung in many churches in the area and his focus is on reaching today’s youth.

The God Did It Funfest is being held to bring the community out for a day of family fun. The owners of Hooligans have partnered with Tanniehill to host the event. Inside Hooligans, attendees can find a variety of arcade games and play unlimited mini-golf for $8 on the day of the event. APH Radio will be broadcasting live from the event and there will be a DJ with live music.

Food will be available as well. Three dollars will buy a drink, hot dog and chips. A portion of all profits will go towards the publishing of Sanchez’s book God Did It. The book shares its title with his most recent release, which is available on Amazon music.

Fans wearing God Did It apparel will have a chance to win a prize at the event. Hooligans is located at 519 First Street S.W. To learn more about the event, visit facebook.com/sanchez.justme.tanniehill.
