Update: Body found near Chelsea Park Drive identified

CHELSEA – An investigation is under way after a body was found off U.S. Highway 280 near Chelsea Park Drive on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at approximately 2 p.m.

Today, Thursday, Aug. 11, at 11:09 a.m. the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the deceased body.

According to the Sheriff’s Office family members have identified the person as 24-year-old Solomon O’Connor Flowers of Irondale.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released a cause of death saying that it is pending the results of an autopsy that will be performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
