ALABASTER – Members of Alabaster’s Teen Council are looking to give the city’s youth an exciting way to kick off the school year during the annual Back to School Bash on Saturday.

For the third straight year, the Teen Council has organized the Back to School Bash at Alabaster’s Municipal Park off Warrior Drive on Saturday, Aug. 20. The event will be from 5-11 p.m.

The event will be free for all middle and high school students, but attendees should bring money for the event’s vendors and concessions, said Noah Tanner, who worked to organize the bash.

In addition to music from a DJ and karaoke, the bash will also feature basketball and bubble soccer competitions, Tanner said.

The Alabaster Teen Council is a group of several local teenagers who are selected by the mayor’s office to provide input to City Hall. The group also organizes several youth-oriented events each year, including the Back to School Bash, summer movies in the park and the annual summer teen Slip ‘N Slide at Veterans Park.
