HCPC collecting items for flood victims

HELENA–The Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church has decided to reach out to those in need who have been affected by the devastating flooding in Louisiana.

Helena Intermediate School has also reached out to help those in Louisiana by collecting hygiene products that will be shipped to the affected areas on Aug. 19, and HCPC has agreed to ship the remaining items from HIS.

In addition to shipping items from HIS, HCPC is currently accepting donations of non-perishable food items, easy open canned goods, packaged underwear of all sizes, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, feminine products, adult and kid diapers, wipes, pet food, water, Gatorade, unopened packaged socks of all sizes, bug spray, sunscreen, solar powered yard lights, flashlights can openers and more that people use on a daily basis.

The church is located at 3396 Helena Road and will be open each day from 4-6 p.m. accepting donations as well as 2-6 p.m. on Saturday and 8-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
