WILSONVILLE – Lane Ross, a resident of Wilsonville for more than 22 years, said he wants to serve on the Wilsonville Town Council to be a voice for residents and to try to make the council’s actions as transparent as possible.

Ross said he will work to ensure that the town’s money is spent on projects that the people want and not just projects that certain members of the council endorse.

“I will bring all reasonable concerns and suggestions from residents to the council’s attention to try and find resolutions,” Ross said.

Ross retired form Alabama Power after 35 years and now spends his time volunteering. He serves on the Building and Grounds Committee at Wilsonville Baptist Church and helps with the Backpack Buddy food programs for Wilsonville and Vincent elementary schools.

He is a board member for the Gadsden chapter of Alabama Power Energizers retiree group and volunteers to clean up roads and streets within Wilsonville.
